How We Look After Your Details
A plain explanation of what happens when you send us a message through this website: what we keep, why, who can see it and how to have it removed. Updated 29 October 2026.
What You Send Us
If you fill in our form, we get the details you put in it: your name, email, business name, your website if you have one, your phone number if you leave one, and your message. Nothing else is collected from the form.
We also keep a coded version of your IP address so we can stop spam. It cannot be turned back into the real address.
We count how many people visit each page, but without cookies and without saving anything on your device. Each visit gets a code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to you. We never keep your IP address or browser details for this.
There are no advertising cookies on this site. Google Analytics, which shows us which pages are useful, only starts if you choose "Yes, that is fine" in the cookie box. It then keeps cookies starting with _ga on your device for up to two years. Choose "No thanks" and it never loads, and you can change your mind with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page.
The lettering comes from Google Fonts, so your browser fetches it from Google.
What We Do With It
We use your details to get back to you, and to help you if you decide to work with us. We do not send newsletters, and we never sell or share your details for marketing.
In legal terms, we rely on our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us, and on doing what you have asked us to do before any agreement is signed.
Who Can See It
Only the people at our business who handle enquiries. The services we use to run the website, store messages and send email hold it too, but only to provide that service to us.
Some of those services work outside the UK, under agreements that UK data law accepts.
How Long We Keep It
Until we no longer need it to help you. If we do not end up working together, it is deleted when it stops being useful, or sooner if you ask.
Your Rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it. Email hello@seoguildford.com and we will reply within a month.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can take it up with the ICO, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
